Anime Origins Artifacts Explained: Relics, Umbral Splinters & Shared Rewards

The Warframe-relic loop

1. Drop: artifacts drop from certain stages — mostly legend stages (Hidden Sand legend act 1 → SND1, act 2 → SND2, act 3 → SND3/SND4, ~50%).
2. Refine: spend Umbral Splinters (legend stages, gold shop; ~500 per refine) to raise the artifact’s reward odds — Madara’s Tablet goes 2% → 4% → 6% (Perfected) → 10% (Ascendant).
3. Open: talk to the artifact NPC by the story area and enter the portal for that artifact type; if you join someone else’s portal you must bring the same type.
4. Pick: when the stage ends, every player who brought an artifact chooses one reward from the full shared pool — so you can take a friend’s mythic roll. Groups also get a drop bonus (creators quote +10%).

What artifacts give

Unit items (Madara’s Tablet, Ghost Gunbai parts), resources and cosmetics; the artifact collector bundle in the shop hands out five of each type plus splinters.

Why it matters

The entire Madara route runs through this system. Farm Hidden Sand legend 3 on auto, refine to Perfected or Ascendant, open in a group.
